- Two initiatives to increase membership were passed at a Special Meeting of the Sustaining Members of NOSA on May 11, 2010. The provisions of these two initiatives are described below (obtain application form under Tab About NOSA or via email to NOSA):
- Applicants for membership in NOSA, as non-profit Associate Members, may join by paying $1,000 dues per calendar year. Non-profit Associate Members are organizations such as universities, government groups and National Laboratories.
- Applicants for membership in NOSA, as Sustaining Members, may pay their initiation fee in four annual installments of $1,100 each, instead of a one-time $4,000 payment. Sustaining Members are for-profit organizations, such as corporations, that are voting members of NOSA, and may serve on the Board of Directors.
Actions contemplated in the near future:
- Create a 12-16 page color brochure for release in October 2010 intended to be a reference document on oil shale.
- Continue to distribute educational video to decision makers and the public.
- Interact with the public, stakeholders, and decision makers by attending meetings, making presentations and answering questions.
- Keep members notified via email of significant events in the oil shale business.
- Expand membership.
